What's Being Said...

No I don't really consider Bynum and Brown "new talent", every roster experiences new names from year to year, a certain degree of flux.  They don't bring any proven, relished, NBA skills to the table that I've seen.  Do you really think a late pick and perennial disappointmet scares anyone into playing hard, or sends a message in any way that the atmosphere has changed?  If we go into the season like this, the only message it sends is you guys can keep on doing whatever the fuck you want again.

What new coach isn't going to come in here and preach accountability?  You'd have to be a downright lunatic not to stress that, and the rest of the usual song and dance about what everyone wants to hear that's customary during the honeymoon period for new coaches.  Usually, I don't associate rookie NBA head coaches with no rings, even as a player, or even a sniff of an all-star game for that matter, to come on to the scene with tons of respect to burn and lay down the law without losing players.

I remember not to long ago LB was worse than cancer and Flip was the answer, perfect fit many said.  You see we didn't need to change the team back then b/c the players are always fine, just ask them.  Joe believed them and in so doing made a serious miscalculation, Saunders was exactly what these guys didn't need, and the fact they wanted him for that reason speaks volumes.  I hope Curry's a solid coach - I really do, but he's not the answer by himself, not by a longshot.

Am I in a small minority of people on this board who've watched the playoffs the last few years?  If you really think we've been actual contenders recently you need to start thinking for yourselves, or watching the games.  Next thing you know preseason is here, and somehow it's like fucking Groundhog Day again.  I don't know how people continuously buy into this 'one more year' crap, even after everyone admits last year was a disaster.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but one more year means one more year...right?  One more year doesn't mean four more years.
